Betty was a woman of faith and a longtime active member of Ken Mawr United Presbyterian Church where she was involved in Women’s Ministry, Circles and Bible Studies. She loved children and often volunteered in the nursery. She also filled in during Sunday services playing the piano when needed. She was a kind woman who always saw the best in everyone.
Betty met Carl at a Christian summer camp when they were teens, and they fell in love. They married on March 17, 1956. Their love for each other was apparent in so many ways. The two of them set a wonderful example for all of us that love endures through all the ups and downs in life.
Her family was Betty’s top priority starting with her children and later with all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a loving mother always there to listen but also had some non-negotiable rules, one of which was attending Sunday School and Church each week. Their backyard was the place to be for the neighborhood kids, and friends were always welcomed. She was a natural caregiver and cared for her aging parents, aging aunts and uncles, and friends and neighbors in their time of need.
Friends will be received at the Hershberger-Stover Inc. Funeral Home and Cremation Services,170 Noble Avenue, Crafton on Friday, June 6th 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Interment will be private.
