At his Kennedy Twp. home, with family by his side, on Saturday, March 5, 2022, Carl W., age 87 went to be with his Lord. Beloved husband for 66 years of Betty Jane Dorsey. Loving father of Carl “Chip” W. (Debra) Dorsey III, Susan (David) Rosko, Rev. Douglas M. (Karen) Dorsey, Darlene Murphy and Marilyn Dorsey. Devoted grandfather of Brittany (James) Irr, Bryan Dorsey, Eric (Melissa) Rosko, Jesse (Jessica) Murphy, Peter Dorsey, James Murphy, Harley Murphy, Matthew Dorsey, Jackson Dorsey as well as five great grandchildren Vincent, Iris, Jace, Lucas and Cora. Elder brother to Catherine (William) Watson and Dawn Tomlinson. Carl was a man of faith and a longtime active member of Ken Mawr United Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder, Chair of the Maintenance Committee as well as participating in many different Bible studies and Sunday School classes. He started as a grocery manager but spent most of his professional career as an insurance broker for 30+ years. After retirement Carl worked as a greeter which he loved. He was a mentor to many through scouting. In 1992 Carl received the God and Service Award from the Boy Scouts of America in recognition of his outstanding service as a leader in scouting. Friends received at the Hershberger-Stover Inc. Funeral Home, 170 Noble Avenue, Crafton, on Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Funeral service in Ken Mawr United Presbyterian Church, 1760 Pine Hollow Rd., Kennedy Twp. (McKees Rocks 15136) on Friday at 11:00 AM. EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. Interment will be private. If desired, memorials may be made to the Ken Mawr U.P. Church.
