The World Got a Little Quieter: Celebrating Cheryl Lynn Brandy.
On October 28, 2025, Cheryl Lynn Brandy, 72 of Scott Township, decided her work here was done and began her next great adventure. Cheryl was a force of nature. She was a master of the witty comeback and offered an endearing level of support for any good or bad decision you might ask her opinion of. She was a collector of classic rock music, firm in her belief that this was the period when the greatest guitar players ever took the stage. This love of music ran so deep that she even named her daughter after a Joni Mitchell song. Her life was a lesson in being a free spirit, and she taught everyone she met to not take life too seriously. Those left to carry on her legacy of laughter (and her love of terrible horror films) are her husband of 39 years, Armand; daughter Chelsea (Josh) Derco; and her grandchildren Aubriella and Aiden. She will also be greatly missed by her mother, Elaine Abernathey; her sisters, Colleen (Michael) Fawley and Cory (Brett) Little; as well as her many nieces and nephews. Possibly most of all, she will be missed by her cat, Boo. Cheryl is preceded in death by her loving father Samuel Abernathy. She is now likely crocheting, watching John Wayne movies with her father, or haunting Donald Trump by sarcastically cranking AC/DC's 'Big Balls' on repeat every time he mentions his grand 'ball room' plans. Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place. The family wishes to grieve privately, and no formal services will be held. In lieu of attending a ceremony, please play Joni Mitchell, Joan Jett, or Frank Zappa entirely too loud or make a donation to a local animal shelter. Arrangements entrusted to the Hershberger-Stover Inc. Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 170 Noble Ave., Crafton.
