Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Froetschel was born October 11, 1929, to John G. and Catherine Rogers Froetschel in Crafton, Pennsylvania. She graduated Crafton High School and worked as a receptionist for the Allegheny Health Department and then for more than a decade as a secretary and bookkeeper with the circulation department of the Pittsburgh Press. After leaving the Press, she occasionally worked part-time for DeSales Advertising, Ryan Homes, Kelly Services and the Heidelberg Antique Mall owned by her sister, Caroline. She also enjoyed traveling with family and friends to Seattle, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Florida and Newport, RI. She was a longtime member of St. Philip’s Catholic Parish in Crafton and cared for her father, John, until his death at age 99 in 1999. She later lived and enjoyed many friendships at Vanadium Woods in Bridgeville and the Baptist Home in Mount Lebanon. She is survived by her sister, Caroline Butter, and husband, Joseph, of Crafton, and brother, William Froetschel, of Corona, California, as well as many loving nieces and nephews including Rachael Blank and her husband, Jeff, of Crafton; Susan Froetschel and her husband, Douglas, of East Lansing, MI; Desiree Butter of Wexford, PA; Joyce Malley and her husband, Joseph, of Bellevue, WA; Mark Froetschel and his wife, Dana, of Crawford, GA; Joseph Butter and his wife, Danya of Kansas; Shawn Butter of Las Vegas, NV, as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews. Elizabeth is preceded in death by her parents and her older brothers, Jack Froetschel and Joseph Froetschel. Friends received at the Hershberger-Stover Inc. Funeral Home, 170 Noble Avenue, Crafton, on Monday 5-8 PM only. Mass of Christian Burial in Ascension Worship Site of St. Philip Church, 114 Berry St., Ingram (Pgh. 15205) on Tuesday at 10 AM.
