Florence Pfeifer, 92, passed away on December 15th, 2020. Known to everyone as Aunt Flo/Florence, she grew up on a farm near Lancaster, NY and was the daughter of Joseph and Mary Czopko. Flo moved to Pittsburgh to attend beauty school when she was seventeen after a childhood of living and working on a farm and surviving the Depression with her two sisters and father. It was on her way home from work one afternoon that she was followed off of the trolley by Frank, who became the love of her life for 68 years. Flo worked at a box factory in McKees Rocks, PA, where she prided herself on knowing the measurements on the machines so intricately that she earned "man’s wages" and because of her tireless work ethic. Flo and Frank shared a life filled with love in Crafton, PA, where they lived in an apartment building they built, owned and managed. Flo poured her love and intense work ethic into managing the apartment building until the past few years. She created a beautiful home for herself, Frank and their tenants and made friends with the entire neighborhood. Flo was a petite woman with a big personality. She was never short on words, could talk to anyone and wasn’t afraid to speak her mind. She loved her family, near and far, very deeply. She helped anyone who needed it, always made time for others, frequently putting others' needs before her own.

The family requests in lieu of flowers or donations that on Christmas Day, please celebrate Aunt Flo with your family and partake in one of her favorites in her honor. She was a lover of chocolates, strong coffee, shrimp, steak, pie and Christmas cookies. Aunt Flo made such a lasting impact on the lives of those around her. She will be deeply missed.
