At her residence at Sunrise Senior Living, with family by her side, Betty Jane Ward, age 89, formerly of Sheraden, Concordia of South Hills, passed into the presence of the Lord on June 17, 2024. Beloved wife of Gerald F. Ward (deceased), loving mother of Gerald J. Ward, Kenneth (Michelle) Ward, Mark (Marion) Ward, and the late Sharon Ward; dear grandmother of Hannah, Connor, Emma, Trinity, Samuel, and Esther Ward. Jane graduated from Bethel Park High School in 1953 and married her husband Gerald in 1958. In the aftermath of her newly born daughter Sharon’s physical/mental diagnosis, Jane accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her savior and followed Him faithfully the rest of her life. Jane was a long-time member of both the Sheraden and Allegheny Center Alliance Church choirs. She taught Sunday School classes, hosted home Bible studies, and befriended many people. Jane enjoyed playing the piano, murder mysteries, the beach, cooking, spending time with family/friends, and “all beef burnt hot dogs”. The family would like to thank the staff at Gateway Hospice and Sunrise for all their love and care. You all were wonderful to “Miss Betty” / “Grandma”. Friends and family received at Hershberger-Stover Inc. Funeral Home, 170 Noble Avenue, Crafton, on Thursday from 9 AM until the time of the funeral service on Thursday at 11 AM. Interment will be private. If desired, memorials may be made to Light of Life Rescue Mission, 665 Ridge Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15212.
