Josephine K Ogden, passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at the age of 91. She was long-time resident of Crafton Borough, then 18 years in Burgettstown on her daughter’s farm and finally 1yr & 4 months at Mt. Assisi Place (Marian Hall). Born on March 17, 1934, in Creekside, Pa. to the late Wenzel Kline and Agnes Simm, Josephine was the youngest of 11 children and the last survivor. She married William N. Ogden, Jr. in September 1955 and remained married for 50 years until William's death in July 2006. Josephine and William had seven children, William III (Debra) Ogden, Helen (BJ) Rogers, Martha (Ron) Olander, Josie (Sean) Kennedy, Rosie (Rob) Tepsich, Leslie (Doug) Duerr, James (Nora) Ogden and her dear sweet friend, Bernadette (Michael) Yanosko, who was like a daughter to her. Also 13 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. Josephine was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker and had a saintly disposition. She was passionate about her family, loved her Roman Catholic faith, provided wise counsel and empathized in the sorrow and delighted in the joyous news of others. She spent many summers gardening, was an extraordinary cook and had a great love of books and learning. She was a faithful member of St. Philips church in Crafton, Pa. for many years, later a member of Our Lady of Lourdes in Burgettstown, and then Mt. Assisi Place (Marian Hall) in Bellevue where she attended daily chapel. Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 24th at the HERSHBERGER STOVER INC. FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 170 Noble Avenue, Crafton, (412-921-0213) where prayers of transfer will be held at 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St Philip Church, 50 W. Crafton Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15205. Interment to follow at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Road, Bridgeville, PA where she will be buried with her late husband who was a Korean War Veteran. If desired, memorials may be made in Josephine's name to Mt. Assisi Place, 934 Forest Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15202.
