We are deeply saddened by the passing of beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother Mark Bassano. On Wednesday, September 20, 2023, Mark Bassano, age 62, of Carnegie, passed as result of a tragic motor vehicle accident. Son of the late James M. and Barbara J. Bassano. Beloved husband for 32 years of Marie Fontana Bassano. Dear father of Leah (Tim) Ward, Justin (April) Bassano and Haley Bassano. Loving grandfather of Nico, Ariana and Giana Ward, and Hunter, Everly and Isla Bassano. Dear brother of Jeffrey (Charmaine) Bassano, Gregory (Terri) Bassano, Jolinda Bassano and James (Rebecca) Bassano.
Born and raised in Carnegie, Mark was a prominent, dedicated and active member of the community. Mark worked for Lakewood Mechanical for the past 15 years and served over 25 years as an elected Pennsylvania State Constable for Carnegie Borough. His unwavering service and dedication will be deeply missed by all. Throughout the years, he was a familiar presence at many community and school activities as well as numerous local athletic games. Mark also provided security for parishioners at the Hill City Church every Sunday. His family came first and he was always involved in his children & grandchildren’s lives. He was a wonderful, kind, caring, warm person to everyone he met. Mark was someone who would help you with anything you needed, anytime or anywhere. His death is a great loss to all of us who knew and loved him. The Carnegie Community has lost a true friend.
