Born and raised Mary Rose Cook in Moon Township, also known as “Ice Cream Mary” proprietor of Remember When in the Windgap area of Pittsburgh for 26 years, “Home of Pittsburgh’s Largest Ice Cream Cone”. The shop reflected her nostalgic spirit and provided a place to gather for fun times and sweet treats. She is remembered fondly for her passion as a community and church member.
She was known for her bright smile, contagious laugh and treating everyone with kindness. She adored her grandchildren and took every opportunity to spend time with them, be it family holidays or beach trips. She enjoyed rides in convertibles, blessing motorcycles and loved flamingos which she said “are the only birds that fly above the storm”. She will be greatly missed.
