Ralph William Masi, age 74 of Oakdale, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2024. Ralph passed away peacefully at the VA hospital in Oakland surrounded by the love of his sisters. Ralph was a 1968 graduate of Montour High School and upon graduation, enlisted in the US Navy. A very talented drummer in his band "The Humans," also known as "The Elements of Sound." Music was a big part of Ralph's life and he was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers fan. Many of his years were enjoyed with family and his friends Paula and Joe and their family who brought so much joy to Ralph listening to music at gatherings and going to concerts together. 
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents Ralph Masi and Margaret (Umstott) Sorg, stepparents Evelyn Masi and Raymond Sorg and sister Katherine Masi. He is survived by his sisters Diane Masi, Vicki (Ron) Maraccini, Debbie (Mark) Zallenick and brother Anthony Masi and sister-in-law Sheila Masi. Ralph was known as Uncle Ralph to many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Per Ralph's wishes, there will be no viewing and he will be buried at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies where are private ceremony will be held. We would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of St Clair hospital and VA hospital for their dedication in trying to help Ralph get through a brief 3-week illness. We especially want to thank all at the VA hospital for giving a beautiful military send off to Ralph at the time of his passing. In addition, a speciaI thank you goes out to the staff at Victoria Manor in Oakdale for treating Ralph like family for the last several years.  If desired, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 600 River Ave., Suite 400, Pittsburgh, PA 15212.
