After a hard fought battle with Alzheimer's Disease, Rita Kassandra Thompson, age 81, peacefully passed away on Monday, October 28, 2024. Rita, formerly of Penn Hills, most recently lived with her daughter and her family in Crafton.  Beloved wife of the late Emmett Thompson and loving mother of Leah K. (Greg) Laepple; dear grandmother of Alexa and David Laepple.  Sister of the late Gloria Wood and the late William (the late Helen) Miller, MD.  Also numerous loving nieces and nephews. Friends received at the Hershberger-Stover Inc. Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 170 Noble Avenue, Crafton, on Friday 2-4 and 6-8 PM where funeral service will be Saturday at 12 noon.
