Robert J. Quinlan “Quin” passed away on December 2, 2023 at his home in Crafton, PA. He is the son of the late John and Rita Quinlan. He is survived by his daughter, 7 siblings and his former wife, Laura. Quin is the beloved father of Kelly Quinlan, brother of Rita (late Dick) Williams, John, Mary Ellen (late Rick) Helck, Anna Margaret, Michael (Pamela), Steve and Alice (Randy) McFarland. In addition to an extensive family and many nieces and nephews.
Quin was a graduate of Canevin High School and Gannon University, going on to become a flight attendant and travel the world. He lived in Colorado before eventually settling in California to raise his daughter. He worked as a self-employed financial planner until his retirement and return to his Crafton home. An avid zydeco and all-around music lover, Quin was always front and center for live music events. His yearly pilgrimage with his friends to the New Orleans Jazz Festival was one of his favorites. Quin was a reader, proudly declaring he successfully read through entire libraries. He was a captivating story-teller always eager to regale family and friends or newcomers with harrowing tales from his childhood and global escapades. Whether or not you believe his extraordinary tales, Quin had a magical way of captivating and bringing his listeners into his stories. A charismatic and eternal optimist, Quin’s memory and stories will live on in the hearts of those lucky enough to meet him. A date for the memorial service is yet to be determined.
