On Monday, September 25, 2023, Shirley Emma Voorhees, age 95, passed away at Heritage Valley Senior Living Community. She was the   beloved wife of the late Charles W. Voorhees with whom she shared 70 years of marriage and friendship. Born in her family home in Pittsburgh in 1928, Shirley was the daughter of the late William C. Keck and the late Mae Keck.  She lived all of her life in the Sheraden area of the city. She is survived by her children, Debra M. Voorhees and Craig H. (Carole) Voorhees.  Also two granddaughters Kara (Seth) Reynolds and Noel Andras.  Also beloved nieces and nephews.  Shirley had two siblings, Caroline Lucas and William Keck who are deceased.   Shirley and Charles were members of the Sheraden Methodist Church.  She was employed by the City of Pittsburgh Police as a school crossing guard. She served for 28 years at the corner by Langley High School and became the union president for School Crossing Guards.  Shirley had a green thumb and enjoyed filling multiple flower beds with every type of flower.  Shirley will be cremated and buried with her late husband at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. There will be no viewing or funeral services.  If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 2835 E. Carson St., Ste. 200, Pittsburgh, PA 15203. Arrangements entrusted to the Hershberger-Stover Inc. Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Crafton.
